Once you have indulged in the luxuries on display, you may wish to catch the thundering train to the famous Swiss Alpine resort of Zermatt, afoot of the largest mountain in all of Switzerland, the gargantuan Matterhorn. Close by, somewhat closer to sea – level, an array of apricot groves and vineyards in Rhône Valley make for an ideal excuse to further indulge in the exceptionally high standard food and wines of this ravishing country.

For a real taste of Switzerland natural beauty, look out for Lucerne, a wonderful medieval town which promotes some ornate architecture nicely nestled in a snow – capped – mountain basin deep inside the Alps.
