DAY 1: UK - Edmonton.
Fly to Edmonton where you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel for two nights.
DAY 2: Edmonton.
Welcome to the friendly cosmopolitan city of Edmonton, the 'Gateway to the North.' The day begins with an included sightseeing tour of the city's cultural and heritage sites. Visit the historic neighbourhoods of Glenora and Old Strathcona. See downtown Edmonton, the University of Alberta and the scenic North Saskatchewan River valley. End your tour at West Edmonton Mall where you'll have a choice of over 800 stores, many exclusive to this shopper's paradise. The mall's international art gallery is a must, with its rare collection of Ching Dynasty Vases and unique bronze statues.
DAY 3: Edmonton - Jasper. VIA Rail® Canadian train.
All Aboard! At the heart of any train trip through the Canadian Rockies is a visit to Jasper. Within hours you'll find yourself surrounded by the majestic peaks of the Rockies, relaxed and ready for an exhilarating day in the great outdoors! Watch for wildlife such as bear, deer, elk, mountain sheep, red fox, wolf, and many other species. Sit back and relax in comfort aboard VIA rail's panorama scenic dome cars. Upon arrival in Jasper, disembark and transfer to your hotel for two nights. (B, L, D)
DAY 4: Jasper. Included wildlife tour.
Today join the included Maligne Lake wildlife tour, of this stunning winter wonderland. Look out for moose, caribou and other big game. Your Tour Director will be able to suggest a number of other wintertime excursions. Why not take a unique icewalk to see frozen waterfalls and enormous icicles in a steep, rocky canyon?
DAY 5: Jasper.
Established in 1907, Jasper National Park consists of 10,878 square kilometres of stunning mountain wilderness, and is one of four national parks which make up the Rocky Mountains UNESCO World Heritage site. Jasper National Park is internationally renowned for its wildlife viewing and is home to some of North America's rarest animals. As the day is at leisure, why not enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and breathtaking vistas of Jasper, or join our optional excursion to spectacular Lake Louise, for a truly memorable day.
DAY 6: Jasper - VIA Rail® Canadian train.
A last chance for wintertime fun in Jasper, before a late afternoon transfer to the train station for the overnight run west, across Canada's Rocky Mountains to Vancouver. Settle back in the Mural Lounge and enjoy the collection of Canadian art as you sip an aperitif. (D)
Note: For your convenience, baggage that will not be needed during the train journey will be checked through to Vancouver. Plan to pack an overnight case with necessities.
DAY 7: VIA Rail® Canadian train - Vancouver. Included sightseeing.
After a leisurely breakfast enjoying the snowy landscapes, you arrive in Vancouver in the morning in time for an included city tour visiting Stanley Park, Gastown, Chinatown and the harbour front. (B)
DAY 8: Vancouver.
Today is a full day at leisure. If you'd prefer, come along on an optional excursion to the seaside city of Victoria, with its marvellously restored buildings and immaculate gardens. The short ferry ride through the Gulf Islands is a bonus.
DAY 9: Vancouver - UK.
Transfer to the airport for your flight to the UK.
DAY 10: Home landing in the UK.

VIA Rail® Canada
Via Rail® is Canada's public railway network operating trains throughout Canada, over a network stretching from the Atlantic to the Pacific and from the Great Lakes to Hudson Bay.
The Canadian
The Canadian is VIA Rail's flagship train, which retraces the historic western transcontinental route, as the enchanting lakes and forests of Ontario give way to the prairies of big-sky country through to the majestic Rockies. The train is scheduled to ensure daylight viewing of the Rockies.
Silver & Blue Class
All our customers travel in Silver and Blue Class award winning first class bedrooms. Located at the rear of the train, leading to the acclaimed Park Car reserved for Silver and Blue class passengers.
The Park Car has wrap around windows enclosing the Bullet Lounge. Above is the scenic dome offering 360-degree viewing, that affords some of the best photographic opportunities ever.
Dining: Whether for breakfast, lunch or for the evening sittings, an enticing menu is freshly prepared by the on board chef, featuring soups and salads, hot entrées and desserts. In the Mural Lounge the bar serves a wide selection of drinks.
Accommodation: By day a private room for two, with armchairs, a large picture window, small closet, hand basin and separate toilet. At night the bedroom converts to upper and lower beds. A separate shower room is located at the end of each carriage. Shower kit (including towels) is provided. We recommend customers take a lightweight dressing gown for when stepping out of the shower.
Luggage: Please pack an overnight bag as the remainder of your luggage is packed away for the duration of the rail journey.
General: In response to public demand the VIA Rail® operate a no smoking policy.

On day 9 continue your stay in your Vancouver hotel, the Sandman Hotel Downtown for two more nights. On day 11 included transfer to the airport for your overnight flight home.
