Holiday Itinerary

DAY 1: UK - Honolulu.
Fly to Honolulu where you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel in Waikiki for four nights.

DAY 2: Waikiki, Honolulu.
A full day at leisure gives you the chance to get acclimatised to the sunshine of beautiful Waikiki. Your tour director will have suggestions including activities near world famous Waikiki Beach.

DAY 3: Waikiki, Honolulu.
Begin the day with a visit to Pearl Harbor, site of the dramatic Japanese air attack in 1941, which drew the USA into World War II. You'll visit the USS Arizona Memorial, a moving tribute to the 1,102 men who died when the ship was sunk by Japanese bombs. Then it's on to downtown Honolulu for a city tour featuring Punchbowl National Cemetery, Chinatown, the Royal Iolani Palace and Kamehameha's Statue. The rest of the day is yours to explore further or relax.

DAY 4: Waikiki, Honolulu.
Waikiki offers a wide variety of activities to choose from. Enjoy swimming, surfing, snorkelling and sailing. Shop at the Ala Moana Centre and the busy outdoor International Market, or why not join the optional half day island tour? Major sights include Diamond Head Lookout, Hanauma Bay and the Blow Hole.

DAY 5: Honolulu - Kauai.
Morning transfer to Honolulu airport for the scenic flight to the 'Garden Isle' of Kauai. Then drive along the southern shore via Poipu Beach to Waimea. Sightseeing highlights include the 10 mile long, 3,600 feet deep Waimea Canyon, known as the 'Grand Canyon of the Pacific', the lush, fertile Hanapepe Valley and a photo stop at Spouting Horn, a dramatic blowhole. The next two nights are in Kapaa. Tonight you'll attend one of Hawaii's best Luaus, including dinner and a captivating revue of dancers and musicians. (D)
Note: Depending on flight schedules, the Luau may take place on day 9

DAY 6: Kauai.
Kauai boasts glittering waterfalls, towering sea cliffs, rugged mountains and more miles of beach than any other Hawaiian island. Your Tour Director will suggest several optional outings including a trip to Hanalei Bay, the setting for many Hollywood films such as South Pacific. Other activities include helicopter 'flightseeing' and snorkelling on the spectacular Na Pali coastline.

DAY 7: Kauai - Kailua/Kona.
The morning is yours at leisure before an afternoon departure to the 'Big Island' of Hawaii with its spectacular scenery, including misty plateaus, craggy cliffs, tropical rainforests, bamboo groves and lava deserts.

DAY 8: Kailua/Kona.
On today's journey admire the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, a natural wonderland - site of the vast Kilauea Crater, the world's most active volcano, and home of the Hawaiian fire goddess Pele. Then head to the sunny Kona coast.

DAY 9: Kailua/Kona.
Today is yours to relax and explore the resort area of Kailua, situated in between Kailua Bay and the dormant Hualalai Volcano. Kailua is rich in Hawaiian history, and features the historic Hulihee Palace, a former vacation home of the Hawaiian Royal Family, and Ahu'ena Heiau, the well-restored personal temple of King Kamehemeha the Great. This area is also known for growing the famous Kona Coffee, one of the most sought-after coffees in the world. For an unforgettable experience, why not join our optional outing to the summit of Mauna Kea Crater to view the sunset?

DAY 10: Kailua/Kona - Maui.
This morning fly to Maui, the 'Valley Island'. On arrival, your sightseeing begins with a visit to the Iao Valley, the 'Yosemite of the Pacific', to view the spectacular Iao Needle, a 1,200 ft high cinder cone. Then travel through lush rural countryside and along the shoreline via Maalea Boat Harbor to Lahaina, once a whaling centre and capital of the Hawaiian monarchy. There's time to explore this colourful town before heading to your hotel in the charming resort area of Kaanapali.

DAY 11: Maui.
A day at leisure to enjoy Maui's splendid beaches, play golf or pop into Whaler's Village for a bit of shopping. Alternatively, why not venture onto the 'Road to Hana', one of the world's most spectacular drives with its hundreds of curves, 54 bridges and countless waterfalls?

DAY 12: Maui. Visit to Haleakala National Park.
Half a day's outing is dedicated to a visit to Haleakala National Park, site of the huge volcanic Haleakala Crater, known to the islanders as the 'House of the Sun'. The stunningly beautiful scenery ranges from cinder cones to dense rainforest and in 1980, this fragile native ecosystem was designated an International Biosphere Reserve. Return to your hotel mid-afternoon, and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.
