Your journey takes you through the rural Dutch countryside and across the border into Germany, arriving in the afternoon in the city and port of Cologne, on the left bank of the mighty Rhine River. Embark your cruise ship, Prinses Christina. (B, D)

DAY 3: Cologne - Andernach.
You'll set sail in the early morning, cruising southwards to Andernach, a walled town known for its impressive 13th-century 'Liebfrauen' Church and the famous 'Rhine Boulevard'. In the afternoon there's an opportunity to join an optional excursion to the Ahrtal wine-making region. (B, L, D)

DAY 4: Andernach - Cochem. Included wine tasting.
Cruising along the Moselle River westwards, you'll arrive in the picturesque town of Cochem, spectacularly set at the heart of the wine-growing area known as the Moselle Valley and overlooked by an 11th-century castle. Today, enjoy an included wine tasting excursion.
Note: On 19 Jun departure, the locks on the Moselle will be closed and the visit to Cochem will be conducted by coach. (B, L, D)

DAY 5: Cochem - Boppard.
Enjoy breakfast on board your cruise ship as you sail back to the Rhine for an afternoon arrival in Boppard, enjoying some of the region's legendary sights along the way. The afternoon is yours to explore this ancient and charming town, set in the beautiful Lorelei Valley, with the Hunsruck Mountains as a spectacular backdrop. (B, L, D)

DAY 6: Boppard - Rüdesheim.
This morning you'll cruise to Rüdesheim, past some of the Rhine Valley's most famous landmarks, including the 130 metre high Lorelei rock, and the Mäuseturm, an ancient customs post, now a beacon tower for shipping. The afternoon is yours to explore Rüdesheim, overlooked by the great ivy-crowned towers of ruined Ehrenfels Castle. (B, L, D)

DAY 7: Rüdesheim - Koblenz.
Cruise northwards through glorious scenery to the historic city of Koblenz, arriving in the early afternoon. You'll have time to explore this lively, historic city, famed for its magnificent Gothic cathedral. (B, L, D)
