DAY 1: UK - Moscow.
Fly to Moscow where you will be met and transferred to your ship, Viking Peterhof, for embarkation. Your cruise is full board from dinner this evening until breakfast on day 13. (D)
DAY 2: Moscow.
After breakfast, enjoy an optional morning tour of Russia's enigmatic capital standing at the confluence of the rivers Moskva and Yauza. Wonder at the Bolshoi Theatre, stop at historic Red Square to marvel at the GUM store and the brightly-decorated onion domes of St Basil's Cathedral and visit the city's stunning metro, with its stations known as the 'People's Palaces' for their elegant designs and mosaics. In the evening, there's the opportunity to enjoy an optional colourful Russian folklore show. (B, L, D)
DAY 3: Moscow.
Another full day for you to delve deeper into Russia's capital, perhaps revisiting St Basil's or enjoying some last-minute shopping along pedestrianised Arbat Street. Or why not choose from more optional tours, perhaps visiting Sergiev Posad, another beautiful Golden Ring city? (B, L, D)
DAY 4: Moscow.
Another highlight awaits today with an optional visit to the famous Kremlin to admire its imposing red-brick towers, extravagant cathedrals, graceful palaces and magnificent Armoury, with its impressive exhibits of royal jewels and armour. Return to your ship for lunch and set sail for Uglich. (B, L, D)
DAY 5: Uglich.
A wonderful morning of scenic cruising lies ahead as you relax on board and continue cruising to Uglich, arriving at lunch time. One of Russia's best-loved towns, Uglich is a Golden Ring city and has much to charm visitors. After breakfast, join an optional walking tour, taking in the town's former Kremlin and haunting Church of St Dmitry on the Blood, constructed in the 16th-century on the spot where Ivan the Terrible's son, Dmitry, was mysteriously killed. DAY 6: Yaroslavl.
Morning arrival in Yaroslavl, one of Russia's Golden Ring cities. Founded in the 11th-century, this important port straddles the Volga and is filled with sights. Admire the majestic Church of the Epiphany and breathtaking frescoes and icons of the Church of St Elijah the Prophet on an optional city tour, before sitting down to a choral performance of Russian hymns. Rejoin your ship for lunch and continue cruising to Goritsy. (B, L, D)
DAY 7: Goritsy.
After cruising through the night, you arrive mid-morning in Goritsy, a typical Russian village famed for its Kirill-Belosersk Monastery, founded by Saint Cyril in 1397. Take an optional guided walk through its scenic grounds, admiring its tiny wooden chapels, Assumption Cathedral and intriguing museum before returning to your ship for a lunch time departure. Cruise along the Volga-Baltic Waterway, a 229 mile network of rivers and canals linking the Volga River with the Baltic towards Kizhi. (B, L, D)
DAY 8: Kizhi.
Experience the silent beauty of Lake Onega as you approach Kizhi, a picturesque island and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Enjoy an optional walking tour of its remarkable Architecture Museum, an open-air collection of traditional Russian wooden houses, windmills and churches. Its showstopper is the 22 domed Transfiguration Church, a three-tiered edifice built in 1714 without a single nail. Rejoin your ship in the evening and continue on towards St Petersburg. (B, L, D)
DAY 9: Scenic cruising.
Relax on board and watch the passing picturesque scenery as your ship cruises along Russia's lovely waterways, sailing the 139 mile 'Blue Route' along the stunning Svir River, before crossing Lake Lagoda, Europe's largest lake. (B, L, D)
DAY 10: St Petersburg.
Morning arrival in St Petersburg. This morning enjoy a thrilling optional tour of the world-famous Hermitage Museum in the Winter Palace where 1,000 rooms are stuffed full with glorious art, antiquities, jewellery and sculptures. Afterwards, enjoy lunch in a local restaurant before taking a fascinating optional tour of this most beautiful Russian city, situated on 42 islands on the River Neva delta. You'll see grandiose St Isaac's Cathedral and Nevsky Prospect before visiting the mighty Peter & Paul Fortress. Another treat lies ahead with an optional evening performance of Russian ballet or opera. (B, L, D)
DAY 11: St Petersburg.
Today's optional excursion takes you to Pushkin, the summer village residence of Russia's great Tsars and home to magnificent Catherine's Palace, named after Peter the Great's widow, Catherine I. Revel in its lavish chambers including its splendid Amber Room, before enjoying the rest of the day at leisure in St Petersburg. (B, L, D)
DAY 12: St Petersburg.
Enjoy a full day to get to know St Petersburg better, perhaps touring its regal palaces, churches and museums. Alternatively, book an optional morning tour to the Peterhof Palace, Peter the Great's summer residence, to witness its famous fountained gardens and opulent French Gothic interiors. Why not admire St Petersburg's handsome architecture from the water, on an optional canal cruise in the afternoon? (B, L, D)
DAY 13: St Petersburg - UK.
Disembark after breakfast and transfer to the airport for your flight to the UK. (B)

Dining
Your cruise includes full board. Breakfasts are buffet style with a choice of hot alternatives. Lunch can be chosen from the salad and sandwich bar, with a selection of soups, entrees and desserts also available. Dinner consists of a choice of main course, which can include regional specialities and traditional favourites. Complimentary tea and coffee are served with meals and free tea and coffee are available from the 24-hour self service station. A Captain's Reception and Dinner are provided as well as a regular evening entertainment programme. Vegetarian meals and any special dietary requirements should be requested at the time of booking.

All cabins are outside cabins. Standard cabins have one bed and one pullman bed, deluxe cabins have a double bed. All cabins have air-conditioning/climate control; TV; telephone; hairdryer; fridge; shower and wc. Your holiday price is based on a category F cabin, or you may choose to upgrade.
