Holiday Itinerary

DAY 1: UK - Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt.
Fly to Sharm el Sheikh where you will be met by our representative and transferred to your cruise ship, MY Harmony V. Relax on board this evening as you sail to Aqaba in Jordan. (D)

DAY 2: Aqaba, Jordan.
This morning your ship moors off Aqaba, which stands in the northern corner of the Gulf of Aqaba backed by stark desert mountains. There's plenty of time to relax and delve into this famous resort, perhaps lazing on its stunning sandy beaches or swimming and snorkelling in its translucent blue waters. Alternatively, join an optional city tour of Aqaba, or an optional excursion to the nearby Israeli resort of Eilat for a city tour which includes a chance to dive or snorkel in the glittering sea.
(B, L, D)

DAY 3: Aqaba, Jordan.
Today don't miss an optional excursion to the incredible 2,000-year-old 'Rose Red City' of Petra, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site and considered one of the new Seven Wonders of the World. Hidden in Jordan's Siq Canyon and reached through a narrow, winding passageway through the gorge walls, this breathtaking Nabataean city is made up of stupendous facades and buildings cut directly into pink sandstone rock, including the world-famous Treasury, Monastery and an incredible Roman-style theatre, which once sat up to 8,000 people. After returning to Aqaba, take time this evening to stroll along the city's lovely waterfront drinking in the exhilarating views. (B, L, D)

DAY 4: Taba, Egypt.
This morning brings an early departure for Taba, another of the Red Sea's resorts, set against an awesome backdrop of steep mountains and neon turquoise seas. Why not take an exciting optional excursion to Pharaoh's Island? Lying off the nearby coast, this small granite island is crowned by the imposing Salah el-Din fortress, built by Crusaders in the 12th century. Follow in the footsteps of its most famous visitor, Lawrence of Arabia, as you walk through its ruined archways, corridors, baths and kitchens before taking a refreshing swim in the aquamarine waters lapping the island's shores. This evening, enjoy a memorable Fishermen's Night, when you'll be served with some of the Red Sea's finest seafood. (B, L, D)

DAY 5: Safaga, Egypt.
With your ship docked in Safaga, make the most of the day on a fascinating optional tour to Luxor, sitting on the banks of the legendary Nile. Built on the site of Thebes, which served as Egypt's ancient capital from 1990 BC, this buzzing city presides over an astonishing local collection of antiquities, temples and monuments. Marvel at the jaw-dropping Karnak Temple, with its forest of giant pillars and splendid chambers and experience the amazing decorated tombs of the Pharaohs at the Valley of the Kings as well as other phenomenal sites. Alternatively, spend the day relaxing in Safaga, which is known for its crystal-clear air and black sand dunes, perhaps sailing off on a glass-bottomed boat to view the sunken wrecks and marine life of the Red Sea. (B, L, D)

DAY 6: Hurghada, Egypt.
Only recently a small fishing port, Hurghada is now one of the Red Sea's most famous resorts and offers gorgeous white sand beaches washed by calm, luminous waters. The day is free for you to explore this lively resort at your leisure, perhaps scouting for souvenirs along its shopping boulevards, topping up your tan on the sands or taking a scuba diving excursion to see the vibrant coral gardens and fish in its pristine waters. This evening, immerse yourself in Egypt's culture and cuisine, sampling exotic local delicacies and dancing during a colourful Arabian theme night. (B, L, D)

DAY 7: Sharm el Sheikh.
This morning, enjoy an optional trip to spectacular St Catherine's Monastery, set at the foot of Mount Sinai. One of the oldest continuously functioning monasteries in the world, it has been awarded UNESCO World Heritage status, and is believed to have been built on the site where Moses saw the burning bush. Alternatively, there is free time to explore Sharm el Sheikh, the perfect location from which to begin a diving or snorkelling expedition. Lounge on the town's satin-sand beaches or join an optional 4x4 safari excursion into the interior to see a radiant desert sunset. (B, L, D)

DAY 8: Sharm el Sheikh - UK.
Disembark after breakfast and transfer to the airport for your flight to the UK. (B)

Note: On 2 Feb and 29 Mar departures the cruise will be operated by M/Y Harmony G. Both ships are a similar standard, although facilities on board may differ.
