One of the highlights includes Summerville - the historic district which began as an exclusive summer retreat for wealthy Augustans. The remainder of the day is at leisure.
DAY 4: Augusta - Myrtle Beach.
We enter South Carolina, the Palmetto State and drive through the Lakes and Blackwater Rivers area, reaching the white sandy shores of Myrtle Beach in the afternoon. Spend the rest of the day exploring this delightful beachside city. In the evening perhaps see the enchanting 'Carolina Opry'. This long-running variety show is one of Myrtle Beach's proudest traditions, and features music, comedy and dance - anything from pop to bluegrass, with rock and roll and gospel mixed in.
DAY 5: Myrtle Beach - Georgetown - Charleston. Included sightseeing.
Our first stop today is the Brookgreen Gardens, formerly an indigo and rice plantation and National Historic Landmark. Spend the rest of the afternoon and evening at leisure further exploring the delights of Charleston, or why not join our optional dinner cruise aboard the 'Spirit of Carolina'?
