Holiday Itinerary

DAY 1: UK - Vancouver.
Fly to Vancouver where you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel for a two-night stay.

DAY 2: Vancouver. Included sightseeing.
This morning head out for sightseeing, including Stanley Park, Chinatown and quaint Gastown, as well as the harbour and beaches. For the afternoon, shoppers and browsers can take a water taxi to lively Granville Island with its outdoor markets, street musicians, entertainers and waterfront cafés.

DAY 3: Vancouver - Kelowna.
Travel east to the resort city of Kelowna, attractively set on the shores of Okanagan Lake and surrounded by orchards and vineyards. Sample the local wines on the included winery tour this afternoon.

DAY 4: Kelowna - Rogers Pass - Banff National Park.
On to Glacier National Park, where the coach climbs the 4,379-ft-high Rogers Pass. Stop for lunch at the pass, a perfect spot for photos of the impressively steep mountain cliffs and surrounding glaciers. Then over Kicking Horse Pass, peaking at 5,421 feet. By early evening reach Banff National Park, gateway to the majestic Canadian Rockies.

DAY 5: Banff.
Banff is one of Canada's favourite year-round resorts with summer activities including hiking, boating, and fishing. We suggest an optional helicopter ride high over the Canadian Rockies or an evening filled with musical entertainment, 'Oh Canada Eh?!'.

DAY 6: Banff - Columbia Icefield - Jasper National Park.
A day of scenic grandeur. First to Lake Louise, its cold turquoise waters are a perfect natural mirror reflecting the surrounding mountains and glaciers. Precipitous gorges, snow-capped mountain ranges and lakes of exquisite blues and greens come into view as the coach scales two mountain passes on the journey northward. A highlight on today's agenda is a stop at the Columbia Icefield for a snowcoach ride over the 1,200-foot-thick Athabasca Glacier. This afternoon join our optional raft trip down the historic Athabasca River. Your accommodation for the next two nights is in Jasper National Park.
Note: Unfavourable weather conditions may affect the availability of the Columbia Icefield snowcoach excursion.

DAY 7: Jasper.
Begin the day with an optional excursion to Maligne Lake, where you embark on a narrated cruise of the lake. On the return journey, we stop to view mighty Maligne Canyon. With much of the afternoon and evening free, you might take a hike along the trails and look for majestic elk.

DAY 8: Jasper - Mount Robson - Sun Peaks.
Leave Jasper following the Fraser River to the base of spectacular Mount Robson, the highest mountain in the Canadian Rockies, peaking at 12,972 feet. The Yellowhead Highway continues south along the mighty Thompson River with spectacular vistas of the Monashee Mountains. Overnight in the alpine setting of Sun Peaks.

DAY 9: Sun Peaks - Lillooet - Whistler.
Head south following the once treacherous Cariboo Wagon Trail. Via Lillooet - 'mile 0' of the gold-rush route - your coach will follow the shores of Seton and Duffey Lakes with a mid-afternoon arrival in Whistler.

DAY 10: Whistler - ferry crossing - Victoria.
Motor along the majestic sea to Sky Highway and Horseshoe Bay and then board your ferry for the spectacular crossing to Nanaimo. Afternoon arrival in Victoria. Sightseeing here includes Marine Drive, Bastion Square and Thunderbird Park with its unusual collection of totem poles.

DAY 11: Victoria.
A full day at leisure, so be sure to discover some of the attractions this splendid city has to offer, including the Royal British Columbia Museum, afternoon tea at the Empress Hotel, whale watching on the Strait of Juan de Fuca and fine shopping along Government Street.

DAY 12: Victoria - Butchart Gardens - Vancouver.
First stop today is world famous Butchart Gardens. This afternoon board the ferry for a scenic crossing from Swartz Bay through the spectacular Gulf Islands to Vancouver for a mid-afternoon arrival. The afternoon is free to explore Robson Street and experience British Columbia's premier shopping and entertainment location. Tonight your Tour Director will offer recommendations for dinner in this vibrant city.

DAY 13: Cruise - Departure.
You'll be driven to the Holland America Line Cruise terminal for embarkation. Sailing time is around 5pm. This evening enjoy a lavish à la carte dinner. (D)

DAY 14: Inside Passage cruising.
The beauty of the Inside Passage will amaze you as you cruise through 1,000 miles of epic scenery, towering glaciated mountains, roaring waterfalls, endless islands and virgin forests. You glimpse a deep fjord and far to the east the sun glints on snow-capped peaks. There is also plenty of animal and marine life to look out for: sea lions, eagles and porpoises. (B, L, D)

DAY 15: Cruising - Juneau.
An afternoon arrival in Juneau, Alaska's lovely capital. The city has a Gold Rush story to rival that of Klondike, and is only accessible by seaplane or boat. An optional wildlife cruise and salmon fishing will normally be available, and you'll also have the opportunity to take an optional excursion to Juneau's own glacier, Mendenhall. This impressive river of blue ice is about 1.5 miles wide and over 12 miles long! (B, L, D)

DAY 16: Cruising - Skagway.
Morning arrival in Skagway, Alaska's gateway to the Klondike Gold Rush in Canada's Yukon. Skagway was the turbulent staging point for prospectors and still has old-fashioned weathered boardwalks and old-time saloons. Optional sightseeing includes a ride in a vintage parlour car to see the White Pass and Yukon route. The rest of the day is yours to relax or explore some more, before setting sail again late this evening. (B, L, D)

DAY 17: Cruising - Glacier Bay.
Cruise into spectacular Glacier Bay early this morning. Forests give way to a rugged landscape rising to rocky peaks. Sixteen huge mountains converge to create an awe-inspiring panoramic wonder, a spectacular scene of awesome glaciers and massive icebergs. Wildlife is abundant, and you may spot eagles, seals, mountain goats, moose and bears in their natural habitat. (B, L, D)

DAY 18: Cruising - Ketchikan.
An afternoon arrival in colourful Ketchikan, situated on Revillagigedo Island and known as the 'Salmon Capital of the World'. Here, a picturesque harbour shelters fishing boats and seaplanes. A wide choice of optional excursions will be available, including an outing to see Indian Heritage Villages, Totem Bight State Park and flightseeing to Misty Fjords National Monument. Mid-evening departure from Ketchikan. (B, L, D)

DAY 19: Cruising.
Continue cruising south along British Columbia's spectacular coastline. Animal and marine life are abundant in this area and with a little luck you may spot a pod of mighty, yet graceful, killer whales. (B, L, D)

DAY 20: Vancouver - UK.
On arrival at the cruise terminal, you will be transferred to Vancouver International Airport for your overnight flight to the UK. (B)

DAY 21: Home landing in the UK.
