Holiday Itinerary

DAY 1: London - Channel crossing - Amsterdam area.
Join your tour by travelling on our free coach service from London for your Channel crossing to the Continent. Here you will be met by your tour director and touring coach to continue to the Amsterdam area for overnight.

DAY 2: Amsterdam area (included sightseeing) - Rhineland.
A morning to enjoy Amsterdam, delightful city of a thousand bridges. Your included excursion will take in a visit to a diamond factory, enjoy some city sightseeing and a canal cruise. This will give you a really good and lasting knowledge of Holland's best-known and largest city. This afternoon we continue our journey to the scenic Rhineland for overnight. (B, D)

DAY 3: Rhineland - Heidelberg - Lake Lucerne.
A choice today of the included scenic drive along the shores of the Rhine or an optional cruise by way of the Lorelei Rock passing medieval castles, half-timbered wine villages and terraced vineyards. Later travel directly to Heidelberg and stop awhile in this delightful city. Continue to the shores of Lake Lucerne for overnight. (B, D)

DAY 4: Lucerne.
See the highlights of Lucerne, one of Switzerland's finest cities, on the included visit which takes in the Lion Monument and wooden bridge. Enjoy a spectacular view of the Alps on the optional cable car trip to the 10,000 foot summit of Mount Titlis - a breathtaking sight. (B)

DAY 5: Lake Lucerne - Lugano - Verona - Venice area.
Breathtaking views today as we head south through Alpine scenery to the subtropical climes of the Ticino region. Stop in beautiful Lugano and take a stroll along its lakeside promenade. Cross into Italy and travel to Verona to see the legendary balcony of Juliet before heading to the Venice area for two nights. (B, D)

DAY 6: Venice.
With its criss-crossing canals, arched bridges and quiet piazzas, Venice is an unforgettable city. Enjoy the included canal boat ride followed by orientation and glass blowing demonstration. (B)

DAY 7: Venice area - Assisi - Rome.
A long but interesting drive southward, first cutting across the Po Delta, then joining the expressway skirting the Adriatic coast. Cross the Apennines to Assisi to visit the magnificent Basilica of St Francis. Later in the afternoon join the motorway to Rome for a two night stay. (B)

DAY 8: Rome. Included sightseeing.
The 'Eternal City' - a city steeped in history, vibrantly alive, exciting and absolutely unique! Included sightseeing with local guide starts in St Peter's Square, followed by a visit to the Roman Forum and the mighty Colosseum. (B)

DAY 9: Rome - Pompeii - Neapolitan Riviera.
Enjoy a view of Vesuvius - one of Europe's greatest live volcanoes. Time to visit Pompeii with a local guide, destroyed by Vesuvius' eruption in 79AD. Stay on the Neapolitan Riviera for two nights. (B)

DAY 10: Capri.
Take a boat today to the legendary island of Capri surrounded by rose-tinted rocks and beautiful coves of translucent blues and greens. An optional tour will take you around the island. (B, D)

DAY 11: Neapolitan Riviera - Florence area (included sightseeing).
Leave the Neapolitan Riviera to drive north through central Italy passing olive groves, Chianti vineyards and medieval towns of Tuscany. Reach Florence in time to enjoy the included walking sightseeing tour with local guide. This Renaissance city of the Medicis is a treasure-trove of sights. Traffic is partly banned in the historic centre so visitors can wander at leisure and admire this city's timeless beauty. Enjoy a visit to one of Florence's bargain leather shops. Overnight in the Florence area. (B, D)

DAY 12: Florence area - Pisa - French Riviera.
Morning departure for Pisa where a stop will be made to admire the legendary Leaning Tower in the Square of Miracles. Bypassing the great port of Genoa, you continue your journey to the French Riviera. (B)

DAY 13: French Riviera - Route Napoleon - Grenoble.
Follow in the footsteps of Napoleon as he escaped from exile in Elba. From the shores of the French Riviera he made his way to Paris via Grasse, where we'll visit a perfume workshop, Digne and Gap to Grenoble, just as you will. This has since been known as the Route Napoleon. Stay overnight in Grenoble. (B, D)

DAY 14: Grenoble - Beaune - Paris.
Sit back and enjoy the splendid scenery as you leave Grenoble and continue through some of the most famous vineyards in France. Stop in the lovely town of Beaune with time to see its famous 'Hotel Dieu' Hospital. Continue to Paris for two nights, arriving in plenty of time to enjoy an optional cabaret show this evening. (B)

DAY 15: Paris. Included sightseeing.
Enjoy the included city tour with local guide and take advantage of the full programme of optional excursions that are available to you. (B)

DAY 16: Paris - Channel crossing - London.
Say a fond farewell to Paris and drive north to the Channel port where your tour ends. After the short Channel crossing join the coach service to London. (B)
