The legendary coal-fired, steam-powered locomotive train hugs steep canyon walls as it winds its way through Rio de las Animas Canyon with vistas of snow-capped peaks. The locomotives are 1923-25 vintage, maintained in original condition and have been in continuous operation for over 123 years.
